Koscheck's Loafers

I've been watching the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter, and have come to the conclusion that Josh Koscheck is gay. The things he says to some of the trainee fighters and the way he looks at them, definitely gay.

Not only is he gay, but he's an enormous prick. I never watched the season where he was a contestant, but I imagine being a dick as a contestant is different than being a dick as a coach. It also seems to explain the fairy tale eye pokes and such in some of his recent fights. He's not a very good actor. Can't wait to see GSP kick his ass.

Moral Compass?

We often hear from religious people that atheists have no moral compass, or code of ethics, because they don't believe in god. In other words, one has to be threatened with cosmic retribution in order to lead a good life.

This leads me to a recent incident which occurred in Vancouver, WA, in which a young white woman claimed that a black woman had thrown acid in her face. Miraculously, the woman who was attacked, Bethany Storro, had just purchased sunglasses and was wearing them at the time of the attack (at 7pm, the sun was already down), so her vision was saved from damage.

Well, it turns out the whole thing was self-inflicted. Apparently she did this in order to get on Oprah so she could witness for Jesus.

Hmm. So, in order to witness for Jesus, she needed to deceive millions of people. Fantastic morals there. However, once the Oprah people made it clear they wanted to talk about the acid-throwing, and not Jesus, Storro pulled out.

Supposedly she is remorseful, for which part, I'm not exactly sure. But a public apology is in order, if she expects to gain any credence with the public.

Some have said she has mental problems. Well, believing in a magical sky daddy is definitely a sign of mental delusion, so I agree there. But billions believe in such a fictitious being, so they must also have mental problems.

In any case, Storro joins a long line of people who are supposedly very religious, yet engage in illegal/immoral activity, such as; Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker, Ted Haggerty, Peter Popoff, Benny Hinn, Ernest Angely, and countless other televangelists and self-proclaimed believers. Apparently religious belief doesn't inherently make one more moral, but it does make them delusional.

Frank Trigg is a Hypocrite

For those who may not know, Frank Trigg is a Mixed Martial-Arts (MMA) fighter. He was fairly relevant in Pride, but hasn't done much, except lose, in the UFC.

I was just watching some Best of Pride on Spike, with Trigg as a commentator.

Two guys are fighting in the ring, and one inadvertently kicks the other in the balls. The fighter who did the kicking immediately stops the action instead of letting the ref stop it. He apologizes and acknowledges his mistake.

Trigg, as the commentator, points out the outstanding sportsmanship displayed, saying something to the effect "because that's what professional fighters do."

Fast forward a couple years to Trigg's second bout vs Matt Hughes. Sometime during the first round, I believe, Trigg kicks Hughes in the balls. Trigg doesn't even hesitate, even though Hughes clearly indicates he was kicked in the balls. The ref didn't see it, so doesn't stop the action. Trigg takes advantage of the low blow and nearly finishes Hughes. But Hughes manages to survive and goes on to beat Trigg for a second time.

So, we can surmise two things from this:

1) Trigg is not an honorable fighter.
2) Trigg is not a professional fighter.

If he disagrees with either of the above, then he is a hypocrite.

Near Miss

So a couple are driving in their SUV on a freeway here outside of Seattle yesterday. A pickup truck was driving in front of them with an unsecured load. Suddenly a pickaxe flies out of the back of the pickup and into the windshield of the SUV. The pickaxe smashes through the windshield and goes right between the couple, not injuring either of them.

When interviewed, the woman in the passenger seat says she thanks god for protecting them.

...

Now, if I believed there was a god, I'd say it's more likely he just missed.

But, since I don't believe there is a god or gods, I can only shake my head ruefully at the sheer stupidity of such people who think there is a big sky daddy up there looking out for them, and why a middle-aged couple in a Mercedes SUV deserves his protection more than thousands of people in Haiti, or any other extremely pious country stricken by an "act of god".

Some say Seattle is one of the "smartest" cities in the US. I don't think so.

God Strikes Again

Apart from "god" hating Haitians, Chileans, Chinese, and cops, "god" apparently hates small children.

I'm talking about the little girl, Nadia, who went missing in Florida for 4 days, and was "miraculously" found yesterday.

Why does "god" hate her? Because he left her to rot in an "alligator-infested swamp" for 4 days, instead of guiding searchers to her within hours of her disappearance.

And apparently "god" did the guiding, because the guy who found her said so. On The Early Show this morning, he told the morons on that show [paraphrasing] "God led me right to her". However, after more questions were asked, he said that the family gave more information of likely places she'd go. When there, he found the only possible place she could have entered the swamp, next to a guard rail along the road, and then he spent 4 HOURS searching for her at that point. Great guidance there, "god".

And what about all the children who go missing who end up dead. Where was "god" then? This is the problem with religious idiots. They only attribute the hits to "god", the rest are forgotten about, even though millions are praying to "god" while the searches for those other children take place. This is the epitome of cognitive dissonance. Actually there's no cognition involved. I'm amazed that these people can dress and feed themselves.
